    Diesel Intake Cleaning

The specialty: intake cleaning for VW TDI and Ford 6.0L Power Stroke engines, with one-day turnaround.

Diesel intake · VW TDI / Ford 6.0L · One-day turnaround

The only place you should bring your Volkswagen TDI and Ford 6.0L Power Stroke components.

Diesel intake cleaning is a niche few machine shops take on. Carbon builds up in the intake of a VW TDI or a Ford 6.0L Power Stroke until airflow — and with it power and economy — falls off. Cleaning it out is slow, exacting work.

It is the work this shop is known for, and the reason diesel owners drive past closer shops to reach it. Most jobs turn around in a single day.

The shop record

One person, doing the work, since 2001

James Hadaller founded Automotive Machine Specialties in 2001 and moved it to the Empire Industrial Park on Highway 99 in Everett in 2006. It has been there ever since.

For more than twenty years James has done the machining himself. That is the whole promise: the person who quotes your job is the person standing at the machine, and the person you call back if you have a question. Diesel owners, performance builders, and the repair shops that subcontract their machine work all end up here for the same reason — the work is right, and it is right the first time.

There is no front counter full of staff and no sales desk. There is a machinist, his tooling, and a reputation built one engine at a time across South Snohomish County.

In their words

What customers say

James did two 2JZ heads for me with surfacing-full valve service, this was by far the fastest turn around time and best experience with a machine shop I’ve had out of the many! Awesome communication and a master of his craft. This is your guy for cylinder head work.
